Who is Carter?

She's a little bit of everything. Lots of Xena, a splash of the Conqueror, a twist of James Bond and a shot of the Avengers. Shake well and chill in a bucket of intrigue and international espionage, and you should be close to the mark.

How was she spawned? Well, I love the Avengers, and I adore the Connery 007 movies. I've got a rather strong fixation with Xena the Conqueror, and Xena the prowling mud-slicked assassin in 'The Debt II' (hey, didn't we all?). Heck, I've even got a soft spot for Lara Croft. In imagining the essence of Xena in a modern, brutal world, this strange but somehow appropriate combination melded together to form my uber character.

This piece of fiction comes with warning labels. In case you have been following some of my other forays into uber, 'Lift to the Scaffold' is definitely not in keeping with my previous style. It's a cruel world here, with no-holds barred action, sex and violence, and the characters have evolved to live here very comfortably. What you read here might fall somewhat beyond your expectations - a warning to those susceptible.

A final point - is this a serious drama, a parody or a fluff piece? I don't know. It started as a fluff piece when N&D became too serious for me. But now... well, see for yourselves. You may love it, you may hate it. You may see it as black satire by a 'Generation Y' twenty-something with cynical undercurrents deploring of the frivolities of sex and violence in our society. Welcome! This is a short, introductory paragraph, just to let you know where I am going with this story. I will post here intermittently, and indicate any updates on the title page. It's not very much, but the story is brewing, so stay tuned.
